Women's Health | Physio
Katy is our specialist Women’s Health physio. Her interest in Women’s Health developed when she discovered that a lot of women were ‘held back’ from returning to exercise after having a baby due to issues with leaking when exercises. Exercises like running or going to Crossfit, which Katy has a keen interest in, actually require a strong pelvic floor to prevent us from leaking.
Women's Health physiotherapy looks at how the muscles of the pelvic floor are functioning to maintain continence. Katy has experience in treating problems such as leaking while coughing, jumping or running. Urge incontinence is another area that requires us to retraining the bladder to suppress the urge to go to the toilet too frequently.
